Great Wall of China - A Dream Fulfilled
21st December 2007
 
Pursuing a desire to go travelling Maxine Anderson from Harrogate International Centre, and mother of four, decided to combine her dream with raising money for charity. Celebrating her 40th birthday, and along with three good friends Maxine has just returned from a ten-day trip to China where she walked the Great Wall and raised over £10,000 in the process for Martin House Hospice. Come to the Moscow State Circus

The Great Moscow State Circus brings to Harrogate International Centre a 35 strong cast of Russia's greatest and most flexible circus performers that have never before been seen in the UK. HIC Launch Venue Magazine
13th December 2007


Harrogate International Centre has launched a new magazine, 'Venue' and issue 1 is currently being sent to clients, prospects, the media and HIC stakeholders.
 
The first edition covers key news stories including the £48 million pound venue enhancing redevelopment scheme, a review of the 25 year celebrations held throughout 2007, entertainment and destination features and an introduction to Jane Nicholls who has recently joined the venue to head up HIC sales. Peace of Mind at Harrogate International Centre
3rd December 2007


Harrogate International Centre has been awarded the Park Mark accreditation by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO). The police give this award to public car park operators who have achieved the standards of the Safer Parking Scheme, and it is designed to reduce crime and the fear of crime in car parks.

 

New Chair for Harrogate Hotels Association

Simon Cotton, General Manager of Cedar Court Hotel in Harrogate, has been elected as Chairperson for the Harrogate hoteliers association, Destination Harrogate. Previously known as the A Group, the association has been in existence for 20 years and currently comprises thirteen Harrogate hotels whose aim is to promote Harrogate as a leading destination for business and holiday tourism. Sun Pavilion Event A Success!

Over 120 Event Organiser's and company PA's from across the region attended a charity fund-raising lunch at the Sun Pavilion on Thursday 15th November. The lunch was an opportunity to showcase this 1930's building as an ideal events venue, as well as raising funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Read the full media release

Sun Pavilion Invites You to Lunch

BBC Radio presenter Georgey Spanswick, will be the guest speaker at a special fund raising lunch to be held at the Sun Pavilion on Thursday 15 November. The lunch gives company PA's and event and meeting organisers an opportunity to experience this unique venue which has hosted hundreds of company gatherings since its' reopening in 1998 by Her Majesty The Queen. Top Score at Harrogate International Centre 26 September 2007

Ali Al Astal, IT Network Engineer at Harrogate International Centre, achieved an outstanding result in the Cisco Systems networking exam, the Cisco Certified Network Associate level, this week when he achieved a rare and distinguished 100% pass mark. Ali attended a five-day residential course in May and since then has devoted two hours a day studying for this highly technical and industry recognised exam. Read the full media release.

TIP-Ex Sign Three Year HIC Contract 20 August 2007

Harrogate International Centre, Yorkshire's largest integrated conference and exhibition centre, is delighted to announce the signing of a three-year contract to host the annual tipper conference and exhibition (TIP-Ex). HIC Supports Hospital in Malawi

Following the introduction of a restyled staff uniform at Harrogate International Centre (HIC) good use has been made of their old uniform by donating 23 boxes to the Harrogate Zomba Mental Health Link, a charity that supports the Zomba Mental Hospital in Malawi. Read the full media release

Tourist Information Centres, New Manager

Helen Suckling joins Harrogate International Centre as Visitor Services Manager with responsibility for the District's Tourist Information Centres in Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon and Pateley Bridge. Harrogate to Host the International Conference on Dyslexia
16 May 2007

The British Dyslexia Association has confirmed that the International Conference on Dyslexia will be coming to Harrogate International Centre from the 27 to 29 March 2008. This is the Association's first visit to Harrogate and over 800 delegates from Europe and the USA will be attending this major event titled 'Dyslexia Making Links'. Read the full media release.


Harrogate International Centre recognised for Business Tourism Award 19 April 2007

Harrogate International Centre has won the Gold award in the Business Tourism Category at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2007.  Known as the tourism industry 'Oscars' these awards celebrate the best in English tourism and this year's ceremony, presented by TV personality Sandi Toksvig, was held at Banqueting House in London.
