Disabled Access
As one of the world's top venues for conferences and
exhibitions Harrogate International Centre is always working to
improve the way we cater for visitors with disabilities, and aim to
enhance and expand our facilities in the future.
Outlined below are the arrangements currently in place and
also explains the procedure to be followed in the unlikely event of
an emergency evacuation.
We hope that the information will help make your visit more
comfortable and enjoyable.
We are constantly
reviewing the service to all our customers, and positively welcome
your suggestions and comments, so please complete our

via the lifts, please ask at our reception if you need
assistance.
Ramps

We recognise that it may not be easy for you to access the
catering facilities, if you do anticipate problems, you are welcome

Wheelchairs
There are eight wheelchair spaces in the auditorium.
Emergency Evacuation
If you are a wheelchair user:
A trained usher will help you evacuate the building safely.
One lift complies with Fire Regulations and is for the exclusive
use of wheelchair users. It can be used by two
people and their carers at any one time. A third
wheelchair user can wait, with their carer, in the safe holding
area near the lift until it returns.
There is now extra wheelchair space in the auditorium and a
second lift and safe holding area have been upgraded together with
audible lift indicators.
If you are not a wheelchair user:
Use the towers to evacuate the building. The towers are safe
areas, so there will be no need to hurry.
Induction Loops
The auditorium and all payphones in the centre are fitted with
induction loops (switch hearing aid to position T).
Guide dogs for the blind and partially
sighted
Guide dogs are always welcome. If you
intend to bring a guide dog, please let us know so that we can
provide your dog with refreshments.
