Harrogate International Centre (HIC) has appointed two new
sales executives to the Sales Team, both as a commitment to
offering continued levels of excellent customer service from the
first point of contact, and to further enhance market intelligence
through new business development.
Head of Sales, Jane Nicholls, explains, "There is an increasing
trend for full information at the first enquiry, and not just
simply for date availability and hire costs. Clients wish to
receive comprehensive information in the first instance on all
ancillary services including booking accommodation, technical
support and catering options, so they can make a considered and
informed decision much sooner.
I believe that this is an industry trend, particularly given the
current financial climate, as we witness an increasing number of
clients seeking more services for their money on tighter budgets.
Maintaining an awareness of the industry and the various sectors
who will utilise our venues is essential, and we are delighted to
be in a position to further strengthen the team in this
respect."
Caroline Leather joins the team as Sales Executive (New Business)
after working for two years with HIC's on-site catering partner
Kudos Hospitality, where she undertook the role of Customer Service
and Sales Executive. Caroline previously worked for Bass Brewers
handling the Wetherspoons account.
Caroline comments, "Through my role with Kudos Hospitality I worked
closely with the HIC teams and their clients to plan and organise
all aspects of event catering. My experience of working with HIC
prior to joining the Sales Team has enabled me to make a meaningful
contribution almost immediately, which is an enviable position to
be in."
Entertainment shows and corporate hospitality events at HIC are
doubling in number since the reopening of the Royal Hall back in
April of this year. By December 2008 the versatile 1000 seat
theatre will have hosted a wonderful and diverse range of shows,
which includes Ken Dodd, the Russian Ballet, the Halle Orchestra,
Snooker, and Mozart by Candlelight as well as a classic car auction
and catwalk fashion show.
To manage the increasing number of enquiries from promoters and
corporate clients, Irene Zdziebko has been appointed to the Sales
Team as Sales Executive (Entertainments and Corporate
Hospitality).
After ten years in the hotel business, Irene took up a sales
position in the events industry and along the way moved to
Harrogate and joined the Yorkshire Event Centre as Sales Manager
where she worked for seven years. Irene said, "I see my role
here at HIC as a natural progression and I am delighted to utilise
my industry background and sector knowledge to maximise on sales
opportunities."
