Harrogate International Centre

 

At Harrogate International Centre delegates and visitors are able to access the Internet using their WiFi equipped Laptop or PDA through the wireless network installed in all the catering areas throughout the site as well as the foyers of the main auditorium and the exhibition halls.

 

Use of this facility is available by purchasing a voucher.  There are three voucher types; The Standard voucher allows 60 minutes access.  You choose when you want to use your minutes and any unused time can be carried over to your next visit.   We also have daily and weekly vouchers that are designed to provide always-on connections for the life of the voucher.

This service is less secure and offers lower performance than a wired internet connection and therefore is not suitable for use when a reliable Internet connection is essential. In these cases we advise you to opt for a wired connection.

 

Clients and exhibitors requiring a more robust Internet access solution can book a Harrogate International Centre network connection providing high-speed access to a shared 10mb LES 10 circuit. This service is also equipped with automatic failover to a 2mb ADSL backup service via an alternate supplier.

 

The service is presented as an RJ45 connection (male) with IP addresses allocated by DHCP server.

 

We can provide IT support and configuration including fixed IP addresses, firewall configuration, "raw" Internet access and PC hire.

 

For an extra  £50 Harrogate International Centre can also provide you with a telephone handset using Voice over IP technology, which will allow you to make calls over your broadband connection.  This service includes  £5 worth of free calls and the supply of a state-of-the-art Cisco 7912 IP handset. 

 

We can offer full IT support and configuration and provide network services throughout the site using a 100mb Cisco equipped switched network. This infrastructure allows organisers and exhibitors to build "virtual" networks to meet their event needs including registration systems, administration and back office systems, webcasting and remote access to corporate networks.

 

A choice of 32", 42" and 50" plasma screens and stands.

 

We can install an Internet Café on the Mezzanine level of the centre foyers using custom workstations and PC's. The maximum number of workstations is 18 including up to 4 on the Level 5 Foyer for wheelchair access.

 

In addition to the fixed location, we can also install portable Internet Café units using custom furniture and PC's. Each unit provides for up to 3 workstations.

 

Only web based email accounts are accessible through the Harrogate International Centre IT network unless you are using a VPN connection.

 

If you want to access your corporate network then your company must be using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Please consult your IT department to see if this technology is in place and for guidance on its use.

 

Our standard analogue telephone lines, can be used with a handset, fax, PDQ machine or modem for dial up Internet access.
