Day 3 of CONFEX saw a relaxed yet busy and vibrant flow of
enquiries at Stand B130 where Harrogate International Centre were
congratulated on their CONFEX marketing campaign, gaining the
Highly Commended Award in this awards category.
The recent acquisition of the Sun Pavilion to the HIC
portfolio was topical during delegate enquiry. With Valentines Day
the theme for Day 3, this venue, set in Grade II listed Valley
Gardens in central Harrogate, is highly sought after as a weddings
and reception venue. The romantic art deco styled architecture,
with the stained glass domed roof offers the perfect setting not
only for weddings but also for all events where a unique venue
lends itself to unique occasions. Event Organisers are increasingly
using the Sun Pavilion for networking events, seminars and product
launches.
For elegance plus romance, the jewel in the HIC crown is the
'glittering palace of gold' The Royal Hall reopened in January by
HRH The Prince of Wales. Long established event organisers are
rebooking the venue for gala dinners, hospitality and seminars,
whilst the entertainment diary for the venue is booking up fast. In
April the Halle Orchestra perform, Edward Fox appears in Beloved
Clara and Ken Dodd returns to a sell out audience.
Newcomers to the conferencing and exhibition industry who
visited HIC today were impressed to learn that Harrogate is located
midway between London and Edinburgh, the ideal situation for event
organisers whose delegates travel from all corners of the UK and
Europe. Another bonus from an organisers point of view, when in
Harrogate delegates do not need their car. Everything business
visitors require is within walking distance of the exhibition halls
and auditorium, as illustrated by the Stand's 3D map of Harrogate
and showing the many hotels also within that proximity.
As CONFEX comes to a close for 2008 the Experience Harrogate
