TIP-Ex Contract
Tipping the balance in favour of Harrogate
20 August 2007
Harrogate International Centre, Yorkshire's largest integrated
conference and exhibition centre, is delighted to announce the
signing of a three-year contract to host the annual tipper
conference and exhibition (Tip-Ex). The event will attract an
additional 10,000 visitors to the region each year.
Stuart Quin, Director of HIC, said, "We are very pleased to host
one of the key exhibitions in the transport calendar. Harrogate
welcomes the move by the industry and to the opportunity of
renewing old acquaintances with exhibitors and visitors alike. We
look forward to working in partnership with this unique and
spectacular exhibition."
Harrogate has a long association with the road haulage industry
having staged the old tipper truck convention (TIPCON) for many
years prior to its move to Manchester in early 2000. The inaugural
Tip-Ex event launched in Harrogate in May this year used
over 5000 sq m of exhibition space across three exhibition
halls, as well as external exhibition space in the adjacent
Majestic Hotel grounds. The event proved such a success that the
tipper industry has firmly voted to stay and build the event in the
town during the next three years.
Dave Tallent from Tip-Ex, said, "Harrogate provides the ideal
location for our visitors to combine business with pleasure. Part
of our decision to commit to Harrogate is the HIC's exciting
plans to develop the exhibition halls into a world class facility,
and we look forward to working closely with them as we both develop
and expand in the future".
