Enjoy England Award

Harrogate International Centre recognised for Business Tourism Award
19 April 2007

Harrogate International Centre has won the Gold award in the Business Tourism Category at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2007.  Known as the tourism industry 'Oscars' these awards celebrate the best in English tourism and this year's ceremony, presented by TV personality Sandi Toksvig, was held at Banqueting House in London.

Stuart Quin, Director of Harrogate International Centre said "We are delighted to win this award for our Queens Suite, which was built in response to client need. The suite provides adaptable event space for up to 600 delegates and interlinks our 2000 seat auditorium and eight exhibition halls.

He added, "We continue to evolve the Centre and invest in our facilities. We have recently added the stunning 1930's Sun Pavilion, based in Harrogate's Valley Gardens, to our venue portfolio and in early 2008 the Grade II listed Royal Hall will re-open following a multi-million pound refurbishment."

This award endorses positive feedback from clients who have used the Queen's Suite for events. Maggie Punyer, Public Sector Director for Ocean Media, who organises the Chartered Institute of Housing Conference & Exhibition said, "The Queen's Suite offers much needed, high quality flexible breakout space for Harrogate. The suite is modern and easily accessible giving speakers and delegates a pleasurable conference experience."
The Queen's Suite opened in 2005 and its 650 square metres can be used as one large room (seating 600 theatre style or 400 cabaret style) or broken down into up to ten individual soundproofed rooms.
