Testimonials

"Thank you for your help and backup at the HIC on our recent visit to Harrogate. We felt that the Show went well and looked really good. As always the HIC team were brilliant at producing things for us and sorting any problems (not that there many) quickly and efficiently. We are always made so welcome and never feel that we are a nuisance which is very much appreciated."

HOME AND GIFT SHOW HARROGATE TO EXPAND IN 2012

HOME AND GIFT SHOW HARROGATE TO EXPAND IN 2012The Clarion show, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, claimed a record 54 per cent onsite rebooking rate off a six per cent year-on-year exhibitor rise. Clarion said a key factor was its decision to increase the show’s total floorplan by 10 per cent by moving into one of the HIC’s new exhibition halls. This will be used to expand collections across its home accessories, gift, greetings, stationery and jewellery areas.

The
HIC is currently building two new exhibition halls, which are due to open in autumn 2011.

“Using the new hall will enable Home and Gift to grow exhibitors by 10 per cent in 2012, with a similar growth predicted in 2013 when the show will expand into the second new hall,” the Clarion spokesperson said. Details on new content will be released in coming months.

Visitor numbers for this year’s show have not been disclosed but the Clarion spokesperson claimed they were on a par with 2010 and bucked tough retail conditions.

The 2011 Home and Gift Fair marked its 50th anniversary with a series of birthday events including a birthday party and Sunday Sundowners celebration held within the Majestic Hotel. During the event, local MP Andrew Jones and Mayor of the borough of Harrogate Les Ellington spoke about the importance of the show to local Harrogate businesses.

“The huge success of this year's show underlines the importance of Home and Gift to the gift, home and fashion industries as the most important show for the second half of the year and an essential event for Christmas ordering, as well as a unique networking and socialising opportunity in one of the UK's most picturesque towns,” Home and Gift show manager Nick Coffey said.

“Next year, we will be enhancing and expanding the event, so we're delighted to report a record onsite rebook."
