Plans were approved towards the end of 2009 for the first phase of a multimillion pound programme of improvements for Harrogate International Centre.

Due for completion in autumn 2011, this £13 million capital scheme includes the development of two new event halls totalling 3,300 square metres.

The new halls will incorporate first-class facilities and the latest in technology, and will also be linked to HIC's existing conference and exhibition spaces to provide optimum flexibility. For example, hall heights will be in the region of six metres, opening up the potential for specialised exhibitions where exhibitors require increased clearance for large machinery and vehicles.
